Hi! I’m Rumi and I’m the photographer behind Crafter’s Imagework
I’ve been a photographing since 2009! Self taught, originally – I got a Canon DSLR and a 50mm lens. I used to take my camera everywhere, and try to create images that turned the everyday into something more. I shot a lot of landscapes, experimented with black and white film and editing in different tones.
Fast forward couple years. I’m taking photography seriously. Studing as a UofA student as well. Beside my studies, I kept taking pictures. Kept exercising my passion and started covering lifestyle session and weddings. And it occurred to me that there was another way of shooting weddings. That documenting the day as it happened could well be more beautiful than trying to stage manage it.
Turns out it was also the start of something. Here I am, six years on. I’ve shot well over hundred weddings. Every one has offered challenges. And every one has been rewarding. I’m still learning. Still looking for new ways to capture images. Still seeing new possibilities to use light.
Still just trying to tell the story. Your Story. Your love story.
Take your time. Have a look at my portfolio. If you like the way I see things – please get in touch. I would love to tell the story of your day.
